In the Silent Shadow

Beneath the gray sky, I wander, On a quiet path, without direction. Each step, weighed down by emptiness, Each breath, filled with sorrow. To the mirror, I ask, Why am I sinking in this darkness? The face that appears, full of wounds, Yet, there are no answers, only solitude that fills. In the quiet of the night, I scream, Yet, the voice drifts without meaning. Tears fall, like endless rain, Erasing tracks that have long vanished. Desire to rise, trapped in its nest, In every dream, I am lost. A heart that is empty, like a calm sea, But within it, a storm that never subsides. I try to hold on to hope, Yet, it slips through my fingers like sand. In the silent shadow, I seek myself, Among the ruins, I disappear without a trace. -Aishah Anwar-
